Some common errors that may appear are listed below:
1. Cox Communications reserves the right to suspend your internet access without any notice.
If this happens to you, contact technical support immediately to learn about possible solutions to your problems.
2. Problems with email. Your email account might be infected with viruses, Trojans, or spyware, causing your computer to lose its email password. This means that when you try to log into your email account on Cox Communications broadband modem, an error message is displayed stating, “Cox Communications cannot find your email password.
Please check the spam folder for your email address.” The recommended solution for this problem is first updating your anti-virus software and then finding the infection. If this doesn’t work, you will need to contact customer care for help.
3. Networking Problems. Sometimes a networking problem occurs with your Cox Communications modem, such as a temporary loss of network connectivity. A technician will be able to diagnose this problem for you and fix it for you, or you can also update your anti-virus software. If you don’t have one, you can call Customer Care to find out if you can reset your account’s password.
4. Other Problems. Several other issues can cause a disconnection of your Internet connection from Cox. These include wireless signal interference, firewalls, software or modem problems, and environmental factors, such as snow and rain.
For these problems, you can contact Technical Support. They can assist you with troubleshooting and resolve the problem.
5. Stolen Passwords. Many people have had their personal information accessed by someone who assumes that they are using the correct password, but they have another user’s password stored on their computer, or they know the correct password but forgot their username.
6. Networking Problems. The Internet connection at your home could be slow, unreliable, or constantly disrupted for no apparent reason. Test your Internet connection and see whether your modem is properly functioning or not.
7. Modem problems. Not all computers are compatible with the Cisco CCNA or other Cisco certifications. If your modem is not working, you will not be able to connect to the Internet. You will need to either replace the old modem with a brand new one or install a brand new Ethernet card into the computer. A professional can help you with this process.
8. Security Risk. It would be best if you always thought about how someone may be accessing your data, whether it’s from your work, your home, or from another location. Never open emails from unknown senders or give out personal or financial information over the Internet unless you are sure you are working with a trusted company.
